The Story of Legacy Senior Living
Legacy Senior Living was founded in 2002 by Barry Ray as Vision Senior Care Partners, a specialized senior living management organization.
The company's first project involved helping a denominational organization develop and operate a 42-unit retirement community for widows on an orphanage campus, creating a unique multi-generational format for care and services. The company continued to grow by securing a variety of consulting opportunities in financing, marketing and operations.
In 2003, Renaissance Marquis located in Rome, GA, became the first retirement community owned and operated by the company. Additional campuses were added across Georgia, North Carolina and Arkansas through various partnership and management arrangements.
In 2006, Bryan Cook joined Mr. Ray, and the two created Legacy Senior Living. Southern Care Assisted Living, an award-winning retirement campus in Tifton, GA, was the first addition to the new partnership. Legacy Senior Living now operates a growing number of it own locations owned by the principals, and also works with key developers and other select owners throughout the Southeast.
Legacy Senior Living seeks to serve America’s Greatest Generation with honor, respect, faith and integrity; and to help faith-based organizations develop and operate senior living communities that provide an extra degree of ministry to seniors.
We are committed to bringing value and expertise to every new and existing facilities, as well as providing on-going physical maintenance at each location. Regular capital improvements are part of the company’s facility planning process with significant renovations scheduled every few years.
Legacy Senior Living offers a full spectrum of assisted living services, independent living lifestyles and short-term respite care options. Legacy Senior Living has also developed The Harbor, a unique and specialized Alzheimer’s and memory care concept that has been gaining national recognition for its innovative programs and design.
Our own Standards of Service address critical areas of care like: nursing, dining, activities and administration with an interdisciplinary education program that includes on-site visits, training and support. This quality assurance effort is designed to help locations deliver superior service and achieve a deficiency free state inspection.
Legacy Senior Living utilizes a structured interview and testing process to evaluate job ability, judgment and values to find the best care providers for our residents. Team members are provided with monthly job function and customer service training, and top performers are recognized though the “Going the Extra Mile” program.
Legacy Senior Living supports a number of local organizations in each community we serve, and we are strongly committed to helping raise funds for regional and national Alzheimer’s Association efforts.
Above all, Legacy Senior Living strives to provide the best in senior living with special calling to make a positive difference in the lives of America’s Greatest Generation and their loved ones.
